Through gentle yoga, breathing practices and guided meditations we will learn to soften and unfurl our tense holding patterns, offering the opportunity to gradually shift the narrative of trauma into self-compassion and a new capacity to trust. Throughout the day we will pay attention to moving skillfully, embodying somatic intelligence and cultivating greater presence through fine-tuning proprioceptive awareness. We will practice movement as an artful, exquisitely subtle and integrated way of navigating the interior of the body and mind, to access the ancient concept of SOMA – the fluid essence of rejuvenation that dwells deep within. We will also touch upon cutting-edge findings in neuroscience that help us understand the effects of traumatic stress and how it impacts our delicate nervous systems. Alana Greenberg, MA, E-RYT 500 has assembled a multi-modality “medicine bag” comprised of Nosara Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine, Five Element Acupressure, Aromatic Botanical Medicine, NADA Acupuncture, Chi Nei Tsang and Somatic Experiencing. During other, more traditional inquiries, she also earned her Master’s degrees in Grief and Trauma Counseling Psychology and Early Childhood Education.
